Beck Law never charges clients for an initial consultation regarding their criminal charges/investigation. This first meeting is free, whether it is in person, by telephone or virtually.  This meeting is to assess the case and determine whether we can help you.

We use a “flat fee” schedule in our criminal cases.  We do not charge clients on an hourly basis. What this means is that the price for our services is an exact amount.  There are no hidden costs.  Everything is explained in detail, so our clients are not surprised by an unexpected bill.  We pride ourselves on our honesty and integrity.

The fee is determined by several factors, such as, the severity of the charges, what jurisdiction the case is in, and the possible penalties. 

As described above, although we charge a flat fee, there may be additional costs.  However, these costs will be included in the retainer agreement and there will be no surprises.  Examples of additional costs are retests of drugs or alcohol results, payment for investigators, DMV reports or jury trial.

Once the flat fee is established and our client agrees, we require at least half (1/2) of the legal retainer up front if it is over $1000.  The agreement will spell out what our client’s monthly payment obligation is in the contract.  For example, the legal fee is $3000, clients must pay at least $1,500 to start, then they can make monthly payments of $300 until the balance is paid in full.

Beck Law understands that being charged with a crime is not something that is anticipated and funds may not be readily available.  We do try to work with our clients because we truly feel they deserve the best criminal defense in Colorado.
